Permit applications are accepted Monday, Wednesday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesdays 8 a.m.-2 p.m., and Fridays from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The City of Windcrest is now accepting applications through Self-Service Permitting Center provided by MyGovernmentOnline. Get started by creating an account!

What work requires a permit?

  • New construction, remodel, alteration, and addition of a building,
  • Dumpsters, fences, flatwork, irrigation, pools, and temporary or permanent Signs, 
  • Electrical, mechanical (air conditioning), plumbing, and utility work.
  • A permit is also required for trimming Oak Trees.
  • Any work listed, but not limited to, Sec. 103-58 of the Windcrest Code of Ordinances.

How long will it take to get my permit?

  • Applications will be received and processed within 24-48 business hours.
  • Small building projects may take up to 3-5 days to be reviewed by the inspector. 
  • Large projects, such as new construction or remodels, may take up to 10 days for review.
  • Please take into account the review time when planning your next project, otherwise you will be charged the $175 fee for expedited review.
  • For emergency utility permits, please email the emergency information, location of the project, type of utility service, and plans for review to the Permit Clerk and City Secretary. You may also reach the permit clerk at 210-655-0022 x 2430.
